Masters of their craft, once they’ve achieved some of their biggest goals, often turn to training and mentoring others as a natural next step. Whether it’s athletes coaching the next generation of Olympians or artists passing skills on to newcomers, teaching is usually seen as a follow-on from prior success.
But what happens when high-achievers try to combine the spread of expertise with continued entrepreneurial success? For experienced property entrepreneur Vincent Wong, the answer lies in self-development.
From Property Investing to Wealth Dragons
As founder and CEO of Wealth Dragons Team PLC, Wong is working to bring self-help education to the masses while building the services and technology to support it.
Covering areas of business including property investing, online trading, and public speaking, Wealth Dragons has years of experience guiding people toward their potential.
Tens of thousands have attended the company’s live workshops internationally since 2009, reflecting a growing global appetite for financial independence — one that Vincent Wong hopes to keep meeting through the company’s evolving services.
Pivoting to a 100% Online Business Model
Like most industries, the shift toward remote, on-demand services has reshaped how Wealth Dragons operates. For those unprepared, this global shift meant learning on the fly.
For Vincent Wong, though, it was an opportunity to transform the business and benefit from the results.
The Wealth Dragons team, including Wong’s business partner and fellow co-founder John Lee, set about turning their live-events business into a fully online operation.
Looking ahead, Vincent Wong plans to build on the cultural shift brought on by the pandemic. With the transition to online workshops complete, Wealth Dragons is now developing two apps that will let people with an interest in self-development access a knowledge base and find the right coaches online.
Wong hopes participants will come away with everything they need to coach themselves toward a recurring, passive income.
From Live Events to a Landmark IPO
Wong firmly believes it’s time for his industry to move into the digital age, which is why Wealth Dragons invested £4m in building and launching its platforms to enter the e-learning market.
The goal is to offer an educational service not typically covered in schools, so that the knowledge needed to build sustainable wealth is available to everyone at the click of a button.
Wealth Dragons’ current ambitions trace back to an early opportunity for Wong and Lee in their roles as speakers, one they seized with both hands and carried forward into their later ventures.
Given the chance to work with one of the biggest events companies in the world, the pair shared a stage with the likes of Bill Clinton and Sir Richard Branson.
That experience spurred the growth of Wealth Dragons in the UK, eventually leading to its IPO in 2019 — the first company in their market in the UK to go public.
Vincent Wong’s Path to Entrepreneurship
Pioneering has been a constant throughout Vincent Wong’s career beyond Wealth Dragons. After earning an MBA in 1997, he became a property entrepreneur, focused on structuring win-win deals for both homeowners and investors.
Seizing opportunities presented by global crises is a recurring theme in Wong’s career — during past economic downturns, he was credited with leading financial strategies in the UK, Malaysia, and the Netherlands.
In particular, his ability to encourage investment in property by removing the need for traditional mortgage financing and deposits proved valuable in sustaining growth in those countries.
It follows, then, that Vincent Wong is well placed to develop the kind of innovative solutions needed to navigate the instability and uncertainty brought on by COVID-19.
“It’s about creating something that adds value to people,” he says. “It’s not so much what you do; it’s the person you need to be to be effective.” Wong’s contribution to the property sector hasn’t slowed either — he’s currently developing a technology platform he believes will fundamentally change the way property is transacted around the world.
Vincent Wong and Wealth Dragons PLC can’t be defined by a single market or approach. Instead, the knowledge they’ve built and the evolving ways they share it continue to grow. On their way to becoming a billion-dollar business, their goal is to bring prosperity to like-minded people along the way.
